Human kindness is overflowing and I think it's going to rain today.

It's funny how nostalgic moments creep up on you. I was driving back from Microsoft HQ after doing day one of training for my upcoming convention job. It was raining quite hard - hard enough that I could barely see in front of me. It was warm - not hot, but sort of a cool-warm. I was suddenly reminded of driving back from Haliburton right at the start of the Pepsi program last summer.

Just then, the voice on the radio started to talk about the premier of the acoustic version of the Foo Fighters' 'In Your Honor', which was done live almost a year ago. I was listening to that as I drove back from Haliburton, Wendy sleeping in the seat next to me, focusing intensely on the road that I couldn't see and focusing on the music to keep me awake - I had been up for a good 13 hours at that point. Once the rain lessened a bit, it was a pleasant little ride. Even though Wendy was there, I felt by myself. It was...contenting. It was nice to be reminded of it. To re-experience it almost. At least my professional life seems to be doing well.

Well, I guess I'll just keep focusin' on the road that I can't quite see. I suppose it'll take me somewhere, eventually.

Also, Microsoft's cafeteria is bloody fantastic. They have an executive chef. My lunch was delicious.

Hey, I was reading about that in the Post at the beginning of the school year. I think they might have weight loss programs as well.... maybe that's Starbucks.
